Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
PurityRadar (“we,” “us”) provides independent, public-records-based information about US drinking water. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible — and we never sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your email address when you sign up for our guide or updates, and anything you write in a contact or feedback form.
- Addresses and ZIP codes you look up. When you check an address, we send it to a geocoder (the US Census Geographies service) and our database to find the water system that serves it. We use it to produce your report and do not store the addresses you look up or build a profile from them.
- Usage data. Like most sites, we collect standard analytics — pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address — via Google Analytics 4. Our hosting provider also keeps standard security and traffic logs.
How we use it
- To send the guide or updates you asked for, and to reply to your messages.
- To measure and improve how the site performs and which content is useful.
- To keep the site secure and operating reliably.
Where required (for example, in the EEA/UK), we rely on your consent for email signups and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful site for analytics.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and security.
- Railway — backend database and API hosting.
- Google Analytics — site analytics.
- An email delivery provider, if and when we send the guide or updates you requested.
We may also disclose information if required by law. The water-quality data we publish comes from public records (EPA, USGS, and similar sources) and is not personal information about you.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” — which we do not do.
To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We’ll respond within the time your local law requires.
Data retention
We keep email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s standard retention settings.
Children
PurityRadar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security & data location
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We operate in the United States, and your information is processed there.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
